1. Definition of Plagiarism
Plagiarism is defined as the use of another person’s ideas, words, images, data, or creative work without appropriate credit. Forms of plagiarism include, but are not limited to:
- Copying text, concepts, figures, tables, or data without citation
- Paraphrasing existing material without proper acknowledgement
- Submitting content that significantly overlaps with previously published or submitted manuscripts
- Self-plagiarism, including reusing one’s own published work without citation
- Using AI-generated text or content without proper disclosure (if applicable to journal policy)
- Presenting work originally created by others as one’s own
Plagiarism—whether intentional or unintentional—is considered academic misconduct.
2. Plagiarism Screening Process
All submissions undergo similarity checking using plagiarism-detection software before peer review.
The journal interprets similarity scores as follows:
- Below 10% similarity
Acceptable if references and citations are properly used. - 10% – 30% similarity
Manuscript may be returned for revision, rewriting, or improving citations. - Above 30% similarity
Manuscript is rejected immediately.
If deliberate plagiarism is detected, the journal reserves the right to:
- Reject the submission
- Notify the corresponding author’s institution
- Blacklist the author(s) from future submissions
3. Handling Plagiarism After Publication
If plagiarism is identified after publication, the journal will take corrective actions based on the severity of the issue:
- Minor overlap → Issuance of a Correction Notice
- Significant unethical reuse →
- Retraction of the article
- Retraction notice published on the website
- Update of indexing and DOI records
- Serious misconduct →
- Notification to the authors’ institution or funding agency
The journal is committed to maintaining a trustworthy academic record and will act transparently in all such cases.
4. Responsibility of Authors
Authors must ensure that:
- The manuscript is original and properly cited
- All reused materials are clearly acknowledged
- Necessary permissions for copyrighted content are obtained
- The article adheres to ethical writing standards
Failure to comply with these requirements may result in rejection, retraction, or disciplinary action.
